SPACE INVADERS app good for
This is the way it should be. Full retro. Like I downloaded Tetris and the rad music was gone, it was all flash animated and burned my battery, the rules were slightly different, etc. This, however, is full on, old scool SPACE INVADERS. Bravo!
This is how you port a classic arcade game to the iPhone. Lots of nice extra touches to take you back down memory lane. Nothing has replay value like a classic arcade game as they were fun to play but near impossible to master.
These guys are right. This is the way it should be done. No tweaking the game to add visual effects or sound upgrades. The point of revisiting a game like this is to go real retro. Here, the original sounds are intact (thank goodness!!!) and the gameplay is flawless. Kudos to the programmers for adding multiple control schemes, and being able to shift backgrounds to match the different variations of the original cabinets was genius! Now all thats missing is the coin slot. Apple, any thoughts? ;)
I love this game. This is the game I thought I was getting when I bought Infinity. I just dumped it when I got this game. Some of the sound effects r abit off but the graphics r just as good.
I absoulutly love this game! Im adicted to this old classic. With endless gamplay I just had to buy it! Although I did find it a little overpriced it well worth the extra cash!

Unlike what some other reviewer said- I found this game to not be touched in any way- the music and graphics are as lame as I remember them. My only complaint is that Taito charges too much! At least have a sale one* day a year..
Some bad moments
This game is difficult to play on the screen. It was a waste of money.
I agree with first reviewer, overpriced, and yes it would be nice if you could play it vertical or horizontal. Would also be nice if was icade compatible.
Please get this right, all we want is original Taito SPACE INVADERS, big on the screen with nothing else, now the control buttons are gone and what are these big blue stripes across the screen? I am happy to give a 5 star review when this is done right, please stop being so creative with the app and give us the classic game
Updated this app and I got a smaller screen. These folks behind this app do not support. Theirs an old saying in my hood, what goes around comes around. How do you folks behind this app look yourselves in the mirror?
Update to 1.0.5 broke the game. I can no longer control the ship. My original review is below and i will delete this message about the game being broken when an update fixes it.

As advertised and works fine on my 3GS. Turned up view to max 140% and it looks fine.
Wish the game saved progress on quit though.
Was working fine until the last upgrade. The controls have disappeared completely! I rate this ZERO until its fixed!
